Human-Machine and Operator Interfaces

The SCADAspire HMI system does not use proprietary solutions.  All the components of a SCADAspire HMI system are industry standard and tested solutions. Our SCADASpire HMI system is powered by National Instruments Lookout HMI software, it has been used for many years to control water and wastewater systems.  National Instruments is a recognized and awarded provider of software for HMI, SCADA and data analysis, including its award winning LabView platform.

Used with our SCADAspire PLC software, our platform provides a full-featured and powerful system to operator you system with reliable operation day after day. Our system can also be used on other vendors products, including RTU and PLCs from other integrators.

Operator Designed

Forshock created the interface with you and your operators in mind.  Many SCADA and HMI solutions are created by the programmers and designers themselves, not actual plant operators.  SCADAspire HMI was designed by water and Wastewater operators to be what they need, not what the developer thought they might.  Easy to navigate screens, descriptive control functions and common theme are a major part of the SCADAspire advantage.

Simple object-based interfaces allow the operators to create the look they need to operate efficiently.  Create custom reports and functions with easy to use, pre-built modules in Lookout.

Redundancy = Safety

Using our platform you can create a redundant system in case of hardware failure or major disaster to keep your system operating. SCADAspire HMI provides virtually seamless transfer of control in the event that the primary station is unresponsive. The system keeps operating processes and settings updated to ensure that your operations continue as smoothly as possible to allow you to correct the problem in a safe and reliable fashion.

Specific Device Components

With our years of working with the water industry, we have created easy to use and powerful control panels tailored to meet the needs of most domestic water and irrigation systems. Panels display vital operating and adjustable values to ensure that operators know exactly what is happening and why it is operating that way. Graphical displays of the current operating status, and alarm notifications for responding to unexpected operation.

Pump Control
Panels designed specifically for operation of well and booster pumps feature the current time and set point values on the primary screen. Setup pumping schedules including Time-of-Use/On-peak/Off-peak schedules, Fire Flow scenarios and standard level control. Setup emergency stops to prevent pump and property damage from over flows or over use of capacity.

Tank Monitor
Visual indications of current operating levels of your tanks and reservoirs, including historical data trends that include pumps operating from the specified tank. Set alarm points and quality requirements to prevent potentially damaging over flow or from sudden drops in system pressure.

Security Panels
Provides visual notification about potential site intrusions to operators to make quick and safe responses. Adjust the settings to prevent possible false alarms caused by environmental or interference factors.

National Instruments Lookout HMI

National Instruments Lookout is an easy-to-use Web-enabled human machine interface (HMI) and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) software system for demanding manufacturing and process control applications. With Lookout, developing your HMI/SCADA application takes less time; delivering substantial savings on overall project costs. Lookout in combination with the Forshock SCADAspire architecture, your system will be running in less time than developing in-house. 

Forshock does not lock you out of your own system, all of the tools needed to create and modify your system are included. Make changes to customize your system to tailor to your specific needs, we also provide training to assist with your system modifications. All systems supplied by Forshock include a full developer and runtime license allowing you and your operators to modify and customize your system.
